He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto after beginning his legal studies at the University of Liverpool’s satellite campus in the Cayman Islands. Mr. Cairns competed in the Vis Moot for International Trade in Vienna, competed and coached the Callaghan Moot, and was a finalist at the University of Toronto’s Client Counselling Competition. He was active in Law Help Ontario, volunteering at Small Claims Court, and took part in the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights. He also was a member of and wrote for the International Human Rights Program at the University of Toronto.

    Prior to joining Fireman Steinmetz Daya, Mr. Cairns articled at a different personal injury law firm.
